Sunday September 23
The offense that we all expected in March has arrived here in September!!! Just in time.
Soriano belted 2 HR's yesterday and King Aramis and D. Lee each added another to lead the Cubs to a 9-5 victory over the Pirates in our next to last home game. Coupled with the extra-innings loss of the Brewers, we are now 2 games ahead in the loss column with 8 days left. It's far from over though.
Ryan Dempster:
I know he isn't a dominant closer, but he is very good. I just don't understand all the boos. He has 28 saves in 31 opps. There is only one closer with fewer blown saves who has at least 12 saves. Just one! Francisco Cordero has 7 BS. Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune reported the other day that the number one priority for the Brewers in the off-season was to re-sign Cordero. Now, Brewer fans probably don't agree, because almost every fan distrusts their closer. We expect every lead to hold up.
But I'll gladly take Ryan Dempster as my closer. I'll be nervous every time, but that is the case with most, if not all, closers anyway.
